TabTrade.com - The Honest Breakdown

TabTrade — The Short Version

TabTrade opened in Q1 2026. Trading platform based in Saint Lucia, licensed through the FSRA. The person who started it is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, a FMA-regulated broker.

His background matters. It says the person running this knows how a proper broker operates. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. Still preferable to someone with no brokerage experience.

The broker opened with Equinix LD4/LD5 connectivity. Same facilities banks and hedge funds use. Usually a new brokerage starts with a white-label MT4 setup. Tab Trade led with infrastructure. Unusual for a new broker.

Market coverage: forex, stock indices, gold, silver, oil, energies, softs, stock CFDs, crypto, exchange-traded funds. Over 1,000 instruments. For a platform this new, the breadth is broad.

What You Trade On

Available: MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and a browser platform. Two major platforms from a single account. Many only give you one or the other. Having both matters. Pick what suits your style.

MetaTrader 5 is what most people know. Complete charts, Expert Advisors, huge user base. If you have traded on a MetaQuotes platform previously, you know exactly what you are getting.

cTrader by Spotware is the cleaner option. Better DOM. More responsive charts. Built-in algo trading. Many people find it more natural once they try it.

FIX API is offered for automated strategies but requires the VIP account ($25,000 deposit). TradingView charting is apparently on the roadmap. That will make the platform set when it arrives.

Costs

Three account types: Standard, Edge, VIP.

Standard. Spread starts at 1.0 pips. Zero commission. Straightforward. No minimum deposit. Good for people who want simple pricing.

Edge. Interbank-style spreads from 0.0 pips on average. Commission of $3.50 each way. All-in: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On majors, the raw spread is frequently below 0.2 pips. Meaning your actual cost per trade can sit below 0.5 pips. That is good for an offshore broker. Most brokers that run raw pricing at this level want $500 or more to open. This broker does not.

VIP account. $25k to open. FIX connectivity, faster fills, negotiated fees. Not for typical accounts. Skip it unless you move real size.

How Fast Are the Fills

The speed is where this broker actually does something different. Equinix LD4/LD5. Under 30ms on Edge. Under 20ms on VIP. These are proper execution targets. Most retail brokers quote hundreds of milliseconds.

Should you care? If you scalp, yes. The gap between fast execution and sluggish execution is catching the move or missing it. If you trade higher timeframes, you will not notice. The point is they invested in proper execution. That is they are not cutting corners on the tech.

Put together that execution speed with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and the overall offering is strong. Not many platforms in this bracket run Equinix connectivity.

The FSRA Question

Now, the detail that matters. The broker is under the FSRA in Saint Lucia. That is offshore. No CySEC. No fund protection scheme. If operating without FCA or ASIC oversight is a problem for you, stop reading. Plenty of tier-1 alternatives out there.

But. The founder built his career at BlackBull Markets, a tier-1 regulated broker. The execution setup is expensive. Scam brokers do not bother with tier-1 data centre access. None of this replace tier-1 regulation. But inform how you think about it.

What you are accepting: you trade regulatory safety. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, cheap spreads, no minimum deposit, Equinix execution. Whether this deal works is your call.
